BACALHAU DOURADO
Golden Codfish
An old recipe for a homely dish, with just four ingredients.
Adapted from an old recipe by Sedaliza Luiz.
7oz | 200g bacalhau
7oz | 200g potatoes
1 small onion, sliced in rings
4 eggs, well beaten with salt and pepper
Soak the bacalhau in water for about a day, changing the water twice. Click HERE to read more.
Drain (but keep the water); boil the bacalhau in fresh water and when cooked remove, de-bone and break into flakes.
Boil the potatoes in the same water as the bacalhau until just cooked. Slice thinly.
Separately, fry the onions and the potatoes in oil. Add the bacalhau, mix well and reheat.
Stir through the seasoned and beaten eggs and serve immediately.
