Crab with sour plums
Caranguejo de Delmira from Delmira Alvares

6 crabs
3 dsp lard
1 dsp balichão
2 cloves garlic, chopped*
2 mui garganta (sour plum)
½ tsp of chili miçó
* The original recipe just said “2 chopped garlic”; presumed to be 2 cloves.
Wash the crabs take the round back off and cut into halves
Fry in 3 dsp lard and 1 dsp balichão. When well fried add 2 chopped garlics, 2 mui garganta (sour plum) and ½ tsp of chili miçó and fry for a few minutes. Lastly add the crabs and fry for 8 minutes. Put in about cup of water into it and cook until done.
